CAMP DESCRIPTION: Hillcrest Academy Basketball Camp will seek to provide sound instruction of basketball fundamentals within an environment also conducive to personal growth and spiritual development. It is imperative that each camper come with an attitude of openness to what is involved in becoming a better person as well as a better basketball player.

Hillcrest Basketball Camp will emphasize progressive in­struction on the basic fundamentals of basketball. Each camper will be taught the proper techniques of shooting, passing, offensive moves, and valuable ball-handling skills as well as defensive techniques, rebounding fun­damentals and position play. Camp will be fun! It will also be work! Each camper will be pushed, regardless of skill level, to improve his/her game.

COED MINI CAMPS for Grades 1st – 4th: Time will be spent primarily on shooting and offensive fundamentals.

CAMP FEATURES:
Games will be played daily. Every camper will receive a t-shirt. Prizes will be awarded!
Competitions
: Spot Shooting, One-on-One, Free Throw and H-O-R-S-E
Individual awards: Best Rebounder, One-on-One, Free Throws, H-O-R-S-E, Spot Shooting, Hustle, Best Defender, Outstanding Camper and Best Fundamental Camper

Camp Director, Coach Dwight Gingerich has been at Hillcrest for 40+ years, and also served as Interim Head Coach at Goshen (IN) College, where he received Mid- Central Conference Coach of the Year honors in 2001. His Hillcrest teams have been consistently ranked in the state’s Top 10. Coach Gingerich was named State Coach of the Year in 2007 and was named a National High School Coach of the Year Finalist in 2010. He received 2017 Conference Coach of the Year honors. In 2018 he received Substate Coach of the Year honors following the team’s 21-4 finish-IMS’ 15th season with at least 20 wins. He has coached 30 all-state players and his teams have won over 700 games in his career. Additional staff will consist of current high school coaches and college and high school players.

ELIGIBILITY: Mini camp is open to boys & girls going into grades 1 – 4. Boys camp is open to boys entering grades 5-12. Each camp is limited to 40 campers.

COST: 1st – 2nd grade: $35 per child
3rd – 4th grade: $50 per child
5th – 12th grade boys: $55 per child

WHAT TO BRING: Water bottle and basketball or tennis shoes. The locker rooms will be available for showers.
