6th Grade Teacher

Hillcrest Academy is seeking a certified 6th Grade Teacher who has a passion for working with middle school aged children and will create a joyful learning environment where all students feel known, loved and respected as part of the classroom community. The teacher will design lessons and activities in pursuance of our state standards and 21st century learning objectives, including critical thinking, collaboration, creativity, reflective learning and cross-disciplinary thinking. Critical components will include hands-on opportunities and learning tied to student interest. The teacher will be a strong communicator, a team player, a trusted and learned voice of education, and will appreciate the joys of working in a school serving a diverse student and family population. Our teacher will give students enough room to fail and learn from their missteps, and provide space for students to self advocate in the learning process. Bible Instructor

Hillcrest Academy is seeking a highly committed Bible teacher for this part-time position. The ideal candidate will be passionate about teaching young people, and in particular, will seek to teach and develop skills related to biblical studies and spiritual development. The candidate shall be committed to Anabaptist Christian theology and at the same time be able to reach out to other perspectives. The candidate shall be committed to the core values of following Jesus, academic rigor, holistic learning, cultivating compassionate leadership, and providing all students an opportunity to thrive in a nurturing community. A minimum of a bachelor’s degree is required. It is preferred that the candidate also be able to coordinate the Chapel program, which involves working with other faculty members and students to plan and lead meaningful chapels each day, including oversight of chapel small groups. Previous teaching experience preferred. Family and Consumer Science Instructor

Hillcrest Academy is seeking a dynamic individual as a part-time Family and Consumer Science Instructor. The candidate will be passionate about teaching young people, and will seek to teach and develop skills in Culinary Arts, Child Development, Clothing Textiles and Interior Design. Hillcrest Academy is currently a grades 9-12 Christ-centered school rooted in an Anabaptist perspective, committed to the core values of following Jesus, academic rigor, holistic learning, cultivating compassionate leadership, and providing all students an opportunity to thrive in a nurturing community. Plans are in place to add 6th Grade next year and then grades 7 and 8. Facilities Manager

This position is multi-faceted, and involves oversight of the buildings, including HVAC, forced air boilers and heat pumps, water supply and water quality. Water quality certification will need to be completed. Candidates shall have skills in plumbing, electrical, carpentry and mechanics. The position also involves maintenance and inspection of school vehicles including three buses, two vans and one pick-up truck. The position includes oversight and care for equipment and the grounds, including mowing, landscaping, and snow removal. The position includes supervision of the custodial staff, and oversight of the school rental houses. Every day is different, and the candidate must be self-motivated. Administrative Assistant

Hillcrest Academy is seeking to fill this part-time (24 hours a week) position with someone who has a warm and inviting presence, strong interpersonal skills, is highly confidential and trustworthy, and is able to function well as a part of the office team. Job responsibilities include administrative office duties and being the frontline support for students, parents, and visitors. Additional qualifications include strong organizational and computer skills (including website maintenance and PowerSchool), the ability to multitask, being detail oriented, and possessing excellent grammar and proofreading ability. Hillcrest Academy is a grades 9-12 Christ-centered school, with plans in place to add 6th grade next year and then grades 7 and 8.
