DIRECTOR OF FINANCE

Hillcrest Academy is seeking to fill this full-time, 12 month position with someone who has strong interpersonal skills, is highly confidential and trustworthy, and is able to function well as a part of the administrative team and finance committee. Job responsibilities include performing accounts receivable, accounts payable, and monthly payroll, filing forms with the Iowa Department of Education, and overseeing office procedures, including covering the front desk as needed. The candidate is responsible for all benefits administration, working on the annual budget with the Finance Committee, and serving as the school contact person for the Educational Savings Account administration of tuition and fees. A more complete list of tasks is available upon request.  It is important that the candidate has strong written and verbal communication and active listening skills. SCIENCE TEACHER

Hillcrest Academy is seeking a highly motivated individual to teach High School Science with the possibility of teaching at the Middle School level as well. The ideal candidate will be passionate about teaching young people, and in particular, will seek to teach and develop skills in Chemistry, Physics and possibly Human Biology and Environmental Science. 7th & 8th GRADE TEACHER(S) – ENGLISH/LANGUAGE ARTS, MATH, SCIENCE, and SOCIAL STUDIES 

Hillcrest Academy is seeking teachers who have a passion for working with middle school aged children and will create a joyful learning environment where all students feel known, loved and respected as part of the classroom community. The ideal candidate would be able to teach more than one academic content area, as each subject area alone is part-time. The teacher will design lessons and activities in pursuance of our state standards and 21st century learning objectives, including critical thinking, collaboration, creativity, reflective learning and cross-disciplinary thinking. Critical components will include hands-on opportunities and learning tied to student interest. The teacher will be a strong communicator, a team player, a trusted and learned voice of education, and will appreciate the joys of working in a school serving a diverse student and family population. Our teacher will give students enough room to fail and learn from their missteps, and provide space for students to self advocate in the learning process. Hillcrest Academy is seeking a Head Coach to lead the Girls’ Basketball program. The ideal candidate will be passionate about basketball and excited to build on the programs foundation. Previous coaching experience and coaching authorization are required. Candidates must hold to the Hillcrest Athletic Department Philosophy found on the Athletics webpage. The position would ideally be tied to another position at the school, but not required. Hillcrest Academy is looking for Middle School coaches who will establish our Middle School programs. Qualified applicants shall have a working knowledge of the sport they desire to coach, and a desire to impact young people’s lives for the better. Candidates must hold to the Hillcrest Athletic Department Philosophy found on the Athletics webpage. Applicants must have or be able to obtain a coaching authorization or coaching endorsement prior to the beginning of practice. The position will ideally be tied to another position at the school, but is not required. Hillcrest Academy has been a grades 9-12 Christ-centered school, adding 6th grade this year and will add grades 7 and 8 next year.
