HILLCREST WINS.
We believe that athletics play a vital role in the development of our students. Through participation in sports, students learn important life lessons such as perseverance, resilience, and teamwork. They also have the opportunity to develop leadership skills and build confidence. We are proud of our athletic programs and the accomplishments of our student athletes. With 57 State appearances including 18 State Championships, all since 1972 when we added interscholastic athletics. Most recently, our Ravens won the 2023 Class 1A State Golf Championship! And our emphasis on positive sportsmanship has been noticed, seen by the 6 trophies we’ve earned in that category.
Hillcrest Athletic Department Philosophy
At Hillcrest Academy we’re concerned with the development of the whole person: emotional, social, spiritual and physical, with emphasis on helping develop God-given physical talents to their greatest potential. Participants face authentic lifetime situations and experiences such as accepting victory and defeat, learning self-discipline and becoming more aware through interpersonal relationships of the needs of other persons performing in similar stressful situations. All of this development occurs under the guidance of professionally prepared Christian adults with the knowledge that we are all the children of God. It is our desire that we perform in such a way as to represent Christ and advance God’s kingdom.
