Hillcrest Academy Track and Field at Eastern Iowa Track and Field Festival April 11, 2026

Rya Scott made her mark in the record books for Hillcrest Academy track and field in three events on a cool rainy day at West High school in Iowa City at the Eastern Iowa Track and Field Festival.  Scott, a senior, broke her own 100 meter mark set in 2024 at the state meet.  The previous mark was 12.69 seconds.  The new mark is 12.63 seconds.

Scott also anchored both the 4 x 100 and 4 x 200 meter relays to new school records.  The full quartet in each of the relays included Karina Bourha (SO), Adia Scott (FR), Niva Helmuth (SR) and Rya Scott.  The 4 x 100 meter relay placed fourth overall winning the slowest of three heats in 51.53 seconds.  The old record was 52.82 seconds set last week by Brynna Boshart, Scott, Bourha and Scott.  The team placed fifth in the 4 x 200 meter relay in 1:49.60.  The previous school record of 1:49.99 was set in 1993 by Anita Miller, Angie Miller, Jamie Miller and Jennifer Leichty.

In other individual events, Siena Stanerson placed fifteen in the 3000 in 11:37.45.  Adia Scott placed nineteenth in the 100 meter dash in 13.37 seconds.  Niva Helmuth placed twenty-third in the shot put with a best throw of twenty-nine feet three inches.  The Ravens compete next in Lone Tree Monday April 13.
