Ravens take on SEISC meet
Hillcrest Academy Cross Country ran in the South East Iowa Super Conference meet hosted by Winfield Mt. Union at Twin Lakes Golf Course on October 6, 2022.
Sophomore Delaney Shaw had her personal best performance at the Southeast Iowa Super Conference cross country meet Thursday. Winfield-Mt. Union hosted the conference meet on the gently rolling Twin Lakes Golf Course in Winfield. Shaw ran a steady pace throughout the entire race passing many of her competitors in the final two miles of the race. Her time was 25:50 on the 5.09 kilometer course and she placed thirty-first. Freshman Chloe Glosser of Pekin won the race in 20:12. Pekin also won the team title with Danville placing second.

Micah Gerber had the best race of his high school career at the Southeast Iowa Super Conference cross country meet in Winfield Thursday. Gerber paced himself well as he went from fifty-first place at 500 meters to forty-first at one mile. He moved up to twenty-eighth place at the two mile. By the end of the race he was in twenty-second place with a time of 19:23 in the 5.09 kilometer course. The top fifteen finishers are designated all-conference. All three of his teammates also ran their career best races at the meet. Jesse Blossom placed forty-second in 20:26. Jeremiah Danker was the eighty-second runner to finish. His time was 25:54. Kyle Neuschwander was three places back finishing in 26:23. “It was good to see the team run so well at their third meet in eight days. Everyone is running their best right now, which is what we want!” Danville-New London won the team title with 35 points with Mediapolis taking second. Hillcrest did not have the five finishers needed for a team score. Solomon Zaugg of Mediapolis won the race in 16:50.
