Ravens Run on: Central Lee Meet Shows Improvement
Senior Aaron Hershberger won both hurdle events at the Central Lee Hawk and Lady Hawk Relays Monday night in rural Donnellson. The meet was rescheduled from the previous Monday due to uncomfortably cold wet weather. The rescheduled meet was held in 80 degree weather under clear skies and 20-30 mile per hour winds from the south. The track events all finished directly into the strong warm winds. Hershberger’s first victory came in the 110 meter high hurdles. Aaron’s time was 16.99 seconds which was over 1.25 seconds ahead of second place. His second victory came in the 400 meter hurdles. Aaron’s time of 1:00.03 is his new personal best. Freshman Andrew Starr made his debut for the Raven track and field team by competing in the short sprint events. He ran the 100 meter dash in 13.73 and the 200 meter dash in 27.68. Quang Huynh also competed in both short sprint events. His 100 meter time of 14.19 is a new personal best.
