Chapel Report: Jesus expresses love through healing

Chapel Report for October 5-9, 2020

Our chapels this week were based on the gospel of Mark 1:21-2:12. In this passage, Jesus is healing persons of sickness and demonic spirits. We look at these stories for how Jesus is expressing love for people.

On Monday, Mark 1:21-2:12 was read. Then Sierra Cheney, Spanish teacher, gave examples of how Jesus showed his power/authority over sickness and evil. 

There was no chapel on Tuesday because of a planned late start.

Wednesday’s chapel continued what was started on Monday. Stories of healing were shared both from “The Chosen”, a series about the life of Jesus as well as personal stories.

Thursday featured Hillcrest alum Steven Jimenez sharing about his family’s encounter with Jesus and how Jesus moved in his family’s life.

The week was wrapped up with students gathering in small groups in the auditorium to reflect on and discuss what they have heard this week.
