The Hillcrest Touring Choir directed by Mike Wagner will be presenting programs locally on

  • Sunday, March 1 – 9:30 am at Washington Mennonite Church and at 10:30 am at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Washington
  • Sunday, March 8 – 9:30 am at First Mennonite Church, Iowa City and 11:00 am at Bethel A.M.E., Iowa City
  • Sunday, March 15 – 8:30 am & 11:00 am at St. Andrew Presbyterian Church, Iowa City
  • Sunday, March 22 – 10:00 am at Trinity Episcopal Church, Iowa City

 Prospective Family Night ǀ We will host an open house for all families considering Hillcrest Academy on Monday, March 9 from 6:30 to 8:00 pm! Learn how Hillcrest can be affordable for your family, meet our teachers and administration team, and check out available classes, extra-curricular activities and more. We’ll have applications and information about our variable tuition. Register to attend at hillcrestravens.org/visit.

Turkey Steak Supper ǀ The Hillcrest Alumni Association, along with the Washington Township Optimists, will host the annual Turkey Steak Supper on Saturday, March 14 at Hillcrest Academy. The menu of turkey, baked potato, salad, dinner roll, and pie & ice cream will be served from 4:30-7:00 pm. A free will donation will be taken at the gate. The proceeds of this meal go towards student scholarships. By supporting this meal, you are making Hillcrest affordable for students in our community!

Please donate blood on March 16! Compassion Club is hosting a blood drive from 6:30-10:30 am at Hillcrest for the Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center. Each donation saves 3-4 lives. Please call the Hillcrest office (319-656-2073) or email Leanne Bender (lbender@hillcrestravens.org) to set up an appointment. New donors, as well as regular donors, are welcome!

Special Emphasis days ǀ Special Emphasis days will take place March 17 & 18. Students will explore “Adulting” Sessions offered including preparing budgets, renting apartments, buying a car,  social media, faith, making friends and dealing with conflict, finding a church, basic car and home repairs and more. We are thankful for the experts coming to share their expertise.

Parent/Teacher conferences will be on Friday, March 20 from 2:30-7:00 pm.

 Skating Party for 5th-8th Graders ǀ The Compassion Club will be hosting a skating party for all 5th-8th graders on Thursday, March 26 from 6:30 to 8:30. Snacks, drinks and skates will be provided for your child. Please rsvp at hillcrestravens.org/visit under Upcoming Events.

 Art Gallery ǀ We will be featuring the artwork of Matt Adams (aka Matt Redbeard). Matt is an artist, woodworker, and purveyor of curiosities. Adams works in ink, acrylic, watercolor, gouache, wood, resin, plaster, and from time to time, computer-aided graphic design and draws inspiration from early Celtic illuminated manuscripts and artists including Albrecht Durer and William Blake. To learn more about Adams and to see some of his work, visit mattredbeard.com.

Rehearsals are underway for the spring production, Take a Number, Darling which will be held April 18 & 19.
