Ravens JV Track & Field Compete at Cedar Rapids Prairie

Rya Scott and Anna Torok braved twenty to forty mile per hour winds while amassing thirty-nine points at the Cedar Rapids Prairie junior varsity meet Monday. The duo placed first and fourth in the long jump. Scott jumped fourteen feet four inches while Torok jumped twelve feet seven and one half inches. They also both competed in the one hundred meter dash recording personal best times with a generous tailwind. Scott placed second in 13.45 seconds. Torok placed fifth in 14.14 seconds. Scott also had a personal best time of 28.54 seconds in the two hundred meter dash to place fourth. Scott placed second in the four hundred meter dash in 1:05.64 fighting headwinds in the back stretch. Torok took the meet as an opportunity to test the waters in the shot put and one hundred meter hurdles. Both events went well as she placed seventh in the shot put and thirteenth in the hurdle race. The Ravens compete next at the Southeast Iowa Super Conference meet Thursday in Wayland.
