Head of School, Nate Miller announces that Josephine Haub will join the Hillcrest Academy Middle School faculty as an English teacher starting in the 2026-27 school year.

Josephine is originally from Council Bluffs, Iowa and graduated from Underwood High School. She then attended Iowa State University where she graduated in May of 2026 with a Bachelor’s degree in English and Education. Josephine has had a variety of jobs during high school and college including a YMCA summer day camp counselor and Aquatics Manager for Riverside Bible Camp. During her time at college, she was a member of and student leader for the Navigators Campus Ministry at Iowa State. Josephine and her husband Asa recently moved to the Iowa City area and are currently looking for a church to call home. As far as hobbies go, Josephine is an avid crafter and loves to crochet and sew, as well as playing the piano when she has the chance. She is very excited to begin her teaching career at Hillcrest Academy and to meet the students this fall!

Former MS English teacher, Lauren Heck will move to the other side of the building and transition to teaching high school English.
