Perfect Weather and Record Turnout Make for a Great Day at the Hillcrest Academy Golf Benefit

Golfers, alumni, and community supporters turned out in force on Saturday, July 11, for the annual Hillcrest Academy Golf Benefit at Kalona Golf Club, home of the 2023 1A State Champions. After last year’s event battled early morning thunderstorms, the 2026 event golfers couldn’t have asked for better conditions as clear skies and warm but comfortable temperatures set the stage for a smooth, enjoyable day on the course.

Players spent the morning working their way around the course, catching up with old classmates and friends, and taking part in the friendly competition. The tournament wrapped up with a catered Mexican lunch by Melitza Jimenez and a presentation to the day’s winners.

The Golf Benefit continues to be a highlight on the Hillcrest Academy alumni calendar, drawing not only golfers but also a strong lineup of business sponsors whose support helps make the event possible. Proceeds from the tournament go toward the Hillcrest Academy Alumni Association as they support the school in various ways. This year’s record turnout is expected to make it one of the benefit’s most successful outings yet and another testament to the strength and generosity of the Hillcrest community.
