Ravens Fall to Panthers

Panthers Top Ravens in Pitchers Dual Tuesday – May 29, 2026
Tuesday night, the Pekin Panthers scored a 4-3 pitcher’s dual softball road win at Hillcrest Academy. The Panthers took an early lead with a pair of first inning runs. They made it 3-0 with another in the top of the fourth. The Hillcrest answer came in the bottom half, with three of their own to draw level at three all. The deciding run crossed the plate for the Panthers in the sixth.

The Panthers were led by a phenomenal outing in the circle for freshman Kendra Schultz who recorded the win going all seven innings, giving up two hits, two earned runs and striking out an impressive 18 Raven batters. She was able to outduel fellow freshman Hillcrest starter Lyla Genkinger with her seven frames of six hit ball with two earned runs and 13 punchouts. A trio of Panthers had a pair of hits apiece, Ezra Parsons, Schultz, and Payten Coleman while Schultz, Coleman and Mikayla Schuttlefield each knocked in a run. At the plate, the Ravens were led by Isabelle Vigneron and Genkinger with a hit and RBI apiece. Vigneron’s hit left the yard.

Pekin is now 1-0 on the season, as the Ravens drop to 0-1.
