Ravens Fly to Regional Final as Runners-up

Four girls golf teams from the KCII listening area started their postseason journey Friday at the Class 1A First Round Regional hosted by North Cedar.

The Highland Huskies beat the field with their group score of 361, 35 shots ahead of second place Hillcrest Academy. The Huskies took the hardware with Adisyn Prottsman medalist with a 12-over-par 84. Medalist runner-up was Highland’s Joslyn Prottsman with an 88. Other rounds for the Huskies were Emersyn Schultz 90, Autumn Guseman 99 and Cassidy Duster 109. Highland is now 28-3 this year.

The runner-up Ravens are on to the next round with their team score 396 with Claire Withrow’s third place finish at 90 the leader. Other Hillcrest cards included Annika Schrock 96, Emma Parizek 102, Maddie Carolan 108, Ava Miller and Brynna O’Rourke each 109. The Ravens stand at 18-8 this season.

Keota was sixth with a 465. Eagle-leader was Hadley Cave with 110, followed by Emily Conger 112, Brynn Conrad 114 and Halle Heisdorffer 129. Keota finishes their season with a 4-21 overall record.

Lone Tree did not have a team score. Their best round came from Adi Parizek with a 121. Rylie Viers followed with a 131.

Highland and Hillcrest advance to play for bids to state at Wednesday’s Class 1A Regional Final hosted by Wapello.
