The Hillcrest Academy Raven boys and girls golf teams made quick work of Louisa-Muscatine in a pair of Southeast Iowa Superconference duals Tuesday at Cedarcrest in Columbus Junction.

The Raven boys took the contest in a runaway, 159-194. They also took all of the hardware with Rowan Miller the meet medalist on his one-over round of 36 and the trio of Lawson Schrock, Ethan Yoder and Rylan Good runners-up with 41s. Jack Turner shot 42 and Oliver Yoder 49. Hillcrest stood at 20-6 after the win.

The Raven girls downed the Falcons 211-226. Claire Withrow was the winner with a 12 over 47. She was followed by Annika Schrock and Emma Parizek both 53, Ava Miller 58, Brynna O’Rourke 60, and Maddie Carolan and Rebecca Peng 62s. Following action, Raven co-head coach Warren Yoder joined KCII Sports to talk about the wins and his team’s recent play.

Yoder said, “I try to tell both of our teams that you play the course and tonight we played it down. 159 for the boys, couldn’t be happier! Rowan (Miller) does what Rowan does! He leads us and sets the tempo, then we follow that up with three 41s from Lawson Schrock, Ethan Yoder and Rylan Good. Rylan is playing well lately. All sub-50 rounds out here tonight. That’s what we’re going to need during conference and sectionals. Then the girls, Claire Withrow with a 47, Emma Parizek and Annika Schrock with 53s, Ava Miller 58, four golfers sub-60s. The girls got their 10th win of the season tonight shooting 211. We only had two wins all of last season! It’s really been encouraging to see the progress, and the enjoyment that they get from getting a little bit better here and there.”

The Hillcrest girls are 10-6 on the season.
