The Ravens soared to a 4-0 victory over the Danville Bears, taking quick control of possession and scoring four times in the first half for the final 4-0 score. The Ravens created some early chances and began dictating the play throughout the half. Eight minutes into the game, Angel Sambrano sent a pass to Isaac Beachy who turned the ball into the net for the first goal. Minutes later Beachy got the ball to Jaxson Brokaw who rifled a shot into the goal to make it 2-0. After a series of shots and attempted clearances, Danville cleared a ball up the middle of the field. Coming up from his central defender spot, Lincoln Miller drilled a shot from 30 yards out into the upper 90 of the goal. Miller played a role in the next goal as he took a shot from well outside the 18 forcing the goalie to deflect the ball away, where Mateo Rodriguez Yoder was waiting to send the ball back into the net for the 4-0 half-time lead.
During the first half and through the second half, the back line of Lincoln Miller, Simon Willems, Rhys Bender and Beckett Slaubaugh, along with Landon Allen and Beckett Miiller limited the Bears chances. Midfielders Kale Bailey and Danny Myers were perhaps some of the unsung heroes of the game, working hard to limit Danville’s offense, while at the same time pushing forward and contributing to the offense. Garrett Bontrager tallied four saves in goal.
The Ravens improved their overall record to 3-7 and 3-2 in conference play. The Ravens return to action Friday hosting Wapello in both a varsity and JV match.
