Hillcrest Girls Shine at Drake Relays with Record Performances

Hillcrest Academy Track and Field at Drake Relays April 24 and 25, 2026

The Hillcrest Academy girls track and field team had two events qualify for the Drake relays this past weekend.  Rya Scott qualified in the 100 meter dash with her school record time of 12.58 run at Lisbon April 16.  On Friday Scott ran in the 100 meter preliminary round and placed twenty-fifth of thirty-two with a time of 12.53 seconds.  

On Saturday Karina Bourha, Adia Scott and Niva Helmuth joined Rya in the 4 x 100 meter relay.  This quartet ran their qualifying time April 11at the Eastern Iowa Track and Field Festival at West High in Iowa City.  The qualifying time was 51.53 seconds.  On Saturday they won their heat in 50.11 seconds and placed thirty-fifth out of ninety-six qualifying teams.  This time is also a Hillcrest Academy school record.  Congratulations Karina, Adia, Niva and Rya!
