Roadwork Set to Begin on ‘The IMS Road’
For a stretch of road that’s long needed attention, the message is simple: progress is finally here. After years of wear and heavy traffic, the long-anticipated road project in our section of Johnson County is finally moving forward.

According to the Johnson County Secondary Roads Department’s recent press release, work on F67 (540th Street SW), stretching from Highway 1 to the Iowa County line (Awesome Corner), is set to begin in early to mid-May.
The road will generally be open to traffic during construction, but travelers should expect brief delays due to daytime lane closures. Traffic will be reduced to one lane during working hours using flaggers and pilot cars. Both lanes will be fully open to traffic at night except for unusual circumstances.
With favorable weather, the project should be substantially complete before school starts in Mid-August.
