Raven Golf Sees Superconference Split With Indians and Arrows Thursday

The Hillcrest Academy Raven boys and girls golf teams braved windy, cool, wet conditions and the visitors from Wapello Thursday in a Southeast Iowa Superconference boys and girls doubleheader at the Kalona Golf Course.

The Raven boys scored a 161-199 win. Rowan Miller was meet medalist with his low-round 37, which included one birdie. Hillcrest’s Lawson Schrock and Jack Turner tied for medalist runner-up honors with matching 41s. Matthew Chalupa fired a 42 for Hillcrest, Rylan Good a 44 and Ethan Yoder 45. Top player for Wapello was Wyatt Marlette at 44.

In the girls matchup, the Arrows shot down the Ravens 196-210. Wapello’s Emmalin Marshall was meet medalist with a 45. Macey Kuntz was medalist runner-up for the Arrows with a 47. Raven leader was Annika Schrock at 48, followed by Claire Withrow 51, Ava Miller 55, Emma Parizek 56, Brynna O’Rourke 58 and Maddie Corolan 69. With the win, the Raven boys are 9-1 on the year, Wapello drops to 3-7. On the girls side, Hillcrest is 1-1 while the Arrows fly to 2-0.
