Ravens Golf Season Opens Strong

Hillcrest Boys Handle Wildcats in Superconference Dual Win; Miller and Turner Sweep Medals

In an All-KCII area matchup Tuesday, the Hillcrest Academy Raven boys golf team started the new season with a Southeast Iowa Superconference dual win in Columbus Junction over the Wildcats. The Ravens were a 160-200 winner at Cedar Crest Country Club. Rowan Miller won meet medalist honors, leading Hillcrest with an even par 35. He was followed by Jack Turner’s medalist runner-up round of 41. Other Raven scores included Lawson Schrock and Matthew Chalupa with 42s, Ethan Yoder 45 and Rylan Good 47.

Top ‘Cats were Kason Dopler and Kai Allec each with 48s. Aiden Dohrmann shot 51 and Mason Hardy.

Raven Girls Open Season With Road Win at Columbus; Wildcat’s Wellington and Raven’s O’Rourke Medal

The Southeast Iowa Superconference golf dual season got underway at Cedar Crest Country Club in Columbus Junction Tuesday as the Columbus Wildcat girls hosted the Hillcrest Academy Ravens. The visitors scored a 222-300 win. Top Raven card came from medalist runner-up Brynna O’Rourke with a 54. She was followed by Claire Withrow’s 55, Emma Parizek’s 57, Ava Miller’s 59, Annika Schrock’s 61 and Maddie Carolan with 72.

Hailey Wellington led the Wildcats, finishing as meet medalist with a 52. Other Columbus cards included Jocelyn Hernandez 54, Kinlee Brown 59 and Ellie Valencia 135.
