Ravens Shine with Speed, School Record at Tipton Relays

The Hillcrest Ravens girls track and field team placed seventh in a field of fourteen teams Tuesday at the Tipton Co-ed Relays.  Senior Rya Scott won the 100 meter dash in 12.70 seconds despite her starting blocks slipping back as she started the race.  Freshman Adia Scott placed fourth in 13.04 seconds.  Rya placed second in the 200 meter dash in a season best 26.57 seconds.  Adia placed fifth in a personal best of 27.40 seconds.  Freshman Brynna Boshart and SophomoreKarina Bourha joined the Scott sisters in the 4 x 100 meter dash to clock another school record.  The time was 52.82 seconds.  The place was fourth.  The previous record of 52.88 seconds was set by Boshart, Scott, Niva Helmuth and Scott earlier this season.  Siena Stanerson and Marie Yoder placed fourth and fifth in the 3000.  Stanerson ran a season best time of 11:48.66.  Stanerson also had a season best time of 5:38.75 to place seventh in the 1500.  Helmuth placed sixth in the shot put with thirty-two feet 5.5 inches.  The 4 x 200 meter relay of Boshart, Scott, Helmuth and Scott also placed seventh.  Their time was 1:56.43.

The Ravens boys team placed tenth of eleven full teams.  Braden Hartsock had the team’s highest place on the night placing third in the 3200 meter run.  It was a come from behind finish over teammate Calvin Meller who took fourth place.  Hartsock’s time of 11:31.38 was nearly thirty seconds better than his previous best time set last week.  Hartsock also placed fifth in the 400 meter hurdles in a new personal best time of 1:07.37.  Gibson Scott placed fifth in the 110 meter high hurdles in 16.64 seconds.  He also placed seventh in the long jump with a best jump of 18 feet 9.5 inches.  Kayden Estell was eighth in the 100 meter dash finishing in 11.85 seconds.
