Ava Miller ’27 Leads Archers to Nationals

The Golden Hawk Archery Club had an exciting weekend at the 2026 Iowa NASP (National Archery in the Schools Program) State Tournament, held March 27–29 at the Iowa State Fairgrounds in Des Moines.

Hillcrest Academy was well represented, sending eight archers to compete at the state level: high schoolers Landon Allen ’29 and Ava Miller ’27, along with middle schoolers Levi Coblentz ’32, Noah Coblentz ’30, Brooks Meyer ’30, Josephine Miller ’30, Braxton Ropp ’30, and Mason Schneider ’30. With the exception of Josephine, who competed in Bullseye only, all archers took part in both Bullseye and 3D events.

The high school team turned in an impressive performance, placing 3rd in 3D. Junior Ava led the way with a strong 6th-place finish among high school girls, scoring 283. The team also earned an 8th-place finish in Bullseye.

The middle school team had a solid showing as well, placing 8th in both 3D and Bullseye. Noah Coblentz stood out with a 12th-place finish in 3D, scoring 279.
