Junior Marie Yoder took the lead early at the English Valleys Cross Country
Invitational and never looked back. It was a repeat from this meet last year with
Yoder winning the race. She crossed the finish line in 21:25. Also, like last year,
Anna Luers of English Valleys finished in second place. She finished twenty-six
seconds after Yoder. Siena Stanerson of Hillcrest finished third in 22:07. This
was a full minute improvement over her time on the course last year. Stanerson
battled with Luers mid-race, exchanging places several times. Yoder and
Stanerson made it look easy. It wasn’t. The thermometer read 90 degrees at race
time. The course at Knoll Ridge golf course is the hilliest the Ravens will see.
English Valleys won the team title.
