Yoder, Stanerson Dominate A Division; Meller Leads Boys to Third Place
Calvin Meller led the Hillcrest Raven harriers Thursday in Fairfield. Nineteen teams with 155 total finishers competed in the boy’s race. Team results were split out based on school size with Hillcrest placing third of eight teams in the smaller school A division. Both A and AA divisions competed in the same race. Meller placed seventeenth overall in a personal best time of 19:03. Braden Hartsock and Jaxson Brokaw ran together through two miles. Hartsock finished in twenty-seventh place in 19:41 while Brokaw crossed the line at 20:05 for thirty-second place. Isaac Beachy ran a very even paced race with his third mile being the fastest. Isaac finished in forty-seventh place in a time of 20:52. Lucas Beachy had a great race taking 1:20 off his previous personal best. His new best time is 26:46. Lucas finished in 135th place overall. Lincoln Bainbridge of Van Buren won the boys race for the second year in a row. His time was 17:01. Van Buren won the team race in the small school division.

Marie Yoder and Siena Stanerson took the top two spots in the A division of the girls race at Waterworks park in Fairfield. Yoder placed fourth overall in the combined race with a season best time of 20:51. Siena Stanerson placed tenth overall in her season best time of 21:56. There were 94 finishers in the girl’s combined race. Van Buren won the A team division with a near perfect score of 16. Freshman Avery Fedler of Mount Pleasant won the girls combined race with a time of 19:11.

The Hillcrest Ravens junior high boys team won the team title of the A division. Hillcrest was the only team in the division with the four finishers needed to score. Hillcrest had six finishers. Merle Cronquist and Braxton Ropp led the way for the Ravens both finishing the 1.93 mile race in 14:01.
The Ravens compete next at Noll Ridge Country club in North English Tuesday September 16.
