Ravens of Summer All-SEISC Teams

🥎 SOFTBALL
After one of the best years in program history, the Hillcrest Academy Raven softball team was rewarded with four spots on All-Southeast Iowa Superconference North Division Teams.
Senior Malia Yoder was a First-Team North performer at utility. Yoder hit .500 with a .563OBP, .670 slug and 1.234OPS. Yoder led the team with 44 total hits. She scored 31 times, driving in 26 with 12 walks and 12 stolen bases. In the circle, Yoder led the way with 123 innings and 10 wins. She gave up a .252 opponent average, 176 hits, 100 earned runs, 76 walks, 112 strikeouts, a 5.69ERA and 2.05WHIP.
Senior Delaney Shaw was a second team choice at catcher. Shaw finished eighth in Class 1A with five homers and 10th with a .608OBP, to go with a team best .532 average, .797 slug, 1.406OPS, 36 RBI and 33 runs scored with 42 total hits.
Two Ravens were named honorable mention. Senior Morgyn Nafziger hit .280 with a .466OBP, .333 slug and .799OPS. She led the team with 35 runs scored and 25 walks. Nafziger collected 21 hits and seven RBI. Eighth grader Ella Mize hit .329 with a .430OBP, .405 slug and .835OPS. Mize had 26 hits, 17RBI, 12 runs scored and 10 walks. In the circle she served as the closer, leading the team with four saves, a 2.29ERA and 1.45WHIP across 36 innings on 40 hits, 12 earned runs, 13 walks and 28 strikeouts.
Ravens softball finished the season 13-15, the second most wins in school history.
⚾️ BASEBALL
A conference title three-peat and run to the Class 1A State semifinals means the Hillcrest Academy Raven baseball program is loading up on postseason awards.
All nine members of the Raven starting lineup were recognized as All-Conference performers by the Southeast Iowa Superconference North Division this year.
Five Ravens were first team selections. Senior Seth Ours was a first-team pitcher. He finished the season with a 7-1 record, leading the team in victories. In 51 innings he gave up a .143 opponent average on 26 hits, 13 earned runs, nine walks and 55 strikeouts with a 1.76ERA and 0.68WHIP, third best in Class 1A. At the plate, Ours hit .303 with a .471OBP, .316 slug and .786OPS with 23 hits, 19 runs, 15RBI, 16 steals and 16 walks.
Senior Mason Bender was a first-team choice in the outfield. He hit .250 with a .309OBP, .345 slug and .654OPS with 21 hits and 21 runs scored, 18 RBI, 19 walks and 10 stolen bases.
Senior Mason Helmuth was a first-team outfielder. He hit .293 with a .363OBP, .390 slug, and .753OPS. Helmuth had 24 hits, scored a team high 22 runs, drove in 20 and walked seven times with 10 stolen bases.
Senior Liam Schrock was the first-team North Division catcher. He hit .278 with a .429OBP, team best .542 slug and .970OPS. Schrock scored 21 times, had 20 total hits, drove in 17, walked 19 times, stole 12 bases, threw out six base-runners and led the way with three homers.
Junior Rowan Miller was a first team infield selection. Miller led the team with a .325 average to go with a .447OBP, .446 slug and .892OPS. His 27 hits led Hillcrest, as did his 25 RBI and 20 stolen bases, with 21 runs scored and 15 walks. Miller was 10th in the state in defensive assists in the field. On the mound, he was 4-3 in 28 innings with a .339 opponent average, allowing 41 hits, 27 earned runs, 22 walks and 27 strikeouts for a 6.67ERA and 2.22WHIP.
Senior Phoenix Anderson was a second-team pitcher. He had a perfect 6-0 record in 48 innings with a .159 opponent average on 27 hits, nine earned runs, 20 walks and 35 strikeouts for a team best 1.32ERA and 0.99WHIP.
Junior Lincoln Miller was a second-team SEISC outfielder. He hit .310 with a .437OBP, .338 slug and .775OPS. Miller tied for the team lead with 22 runs scored, had 22 hits, 10 RBI and 14 walks with 13 stolen bases.
Sophomore Lawson Schrock was a second-team infield selection. He hit .206 with a .383OBP, .222 slug and .605OPS. Schrock scored nine runs with 13 hits, 11 driven in and 18 walks.
Senior Bryce Bailey was an honorable mention selection in the Superconference. He finished the year with a team best 165 put outs defensively and a 97% fielding percentage.
Ravens baseball finished with an 18-8 overall record, their third straight North Division Superconference title and first trip to the State Tournament since 2008, advancing to the 1A Semifinals.
