Next Steps
On behalf of the Hillcrest Academy Board, please read the following statement regarding the school’s next steps in navigating our leadership transition.

Dear Hillcrest community,
It is difficult to imagine Hillcrest without Dwight Gingerich, as he has been integrally woven into the fabric of the school for over four decades. He has been a teacher, a guidance counselor, an athletic director, a coach, and for the last seven years he has served as our principal. Over his career he has been a steady presence, encouraging students and teachers alike, leading with compassion, respect, and a desire to put peacemaking into practice. The Operating Board accepts Dwight’s resignation, knowing that even as he moves on to a new role at a new school, he will always be a part of Hillcrest history. We wish him all the best in his next chapter.
For the 2025-26 school year, the Board is seeking a one-year interim principal to bridge this transition, with a full search for the principal position occurring for the 2026-27 school year. Specific details of the plan for next school year will be communicated as they are finalized. Although Dwight will be greatly missed, we know that Hillcrest has been built on a firm foundation of God’s love and guidance, and with all the wonderful teachers, staff, students and families who will continue to grow and thrive as the Hillcrest community.
With warm regards,
Allison Goertz, Hillcrest Academy Board President
