A pair of conference duals were on the agenda for Hillcrest golf, as the boys and girls teams hosted Louisa-Mucatine last Thursday. After nine holes played the day was split with the Raven boys (11-1) picking up a 168-204 victory over the Falcons (8-18) and the Raven girls (0-11) being defeated, 235-243, by the Falcons (5-9).

The boys contest featured senior Liam Schrock and junior Rowan Miller leading the Ravens to victory.

Liam Schrock and Miller have been solid all season long for Hillcrest and this dual was no exception, as the senior earned medalist honors with a three under par 33 and the junior earned runner-up medalist honors with an even par 36.

Ethan Yoder also performed well for Hillcrest, placing fifth with 49. Posting twin scores of 50 were Hillcrest sophomores Matthew Chalupa and Lawson Schrock who both tied for sixth place. The final Ravens to post a score was Rylan Good who shot 52 to place eighth.

The Hillcrest boys wrapped up their regular season with a conference tournament at the Heritage Oaks and Country Club at Wapello on May 7.

In the girls contest Louisa-Muscatine senior Joslynn Rickey and Hillcrest sophomore Brynna O’Rourke tied for the low round of the day with identical scores of 54.

For O’Rourke this was a new career low score. Coming in with a third place finish was fellow sophomore teammate Ava Miller who shot 57. Rounding out the team score was Claire Withrow and Izzy Frederick who placed fifth and ninth respectively with scores of 59 and 73.

Up next for the Hillcrest girls is a Southeast Iowa Super Conference tournament at the Flint Hills Golf Course in Burlington on May 12.
