Ravens Fall to Top-Ranked West Liberty After Strong First Half

Playing West Liberty, one of the top teams in Iowa 1A soccer, proved to be a difficult task for the Ravens in an early afternoon match Thursday.

In the first half, the Ravens held their own, keeping West Liberty scoreless, but struggled to create consistent offense. The second half proved to be a struggle as West Liberty scored three minutes into the half. Minutes later, a lofted crossing ball caught the wind and found its way into the upper corner of the goal. The Ravens kept working but allowed a third goal near the halfway point of the half. West Liberty finished their scoring with seven minutes left in the match. Kyle Neuschwander recorded six saves in goal.
