Five Ravens Fly To All-Conference Teams
After a successful season on the court, postseason awards continue to pile up for the Hillcrest Academy Raven volleyball team. Five Ravens were named All-North Division by the Southeast Iowa Superconference.
Two players received first team honors, senior Malia Yoder and junior Claire Withrow. Yoder was selected as a hitter. She led the Superconference with 353 kills, and a .303 kill efficiency. Yoder’s 60 aces led the North and were ninth in 1A in Iowa. Defensively she added 389 digs, third most in the North.
Withrow was chosen as a setter. She finished with a North best 667 assists. She was second in the Superconference with 52 aces, also adding 182 digs defensively.
Senior Kylee Statler was a second team selection at hitter. She led the Ravens with 41 blocks, seventh most in the Superconference North. Her 153 kills were sixth in conference, her .223 efficiency was third.
Two Ravens were named honorable mention, senior Lydia Beachy and junior Niva Helmuth. Beachy finished with 310 digs, seventh in the Superconference, and 38 aces, third most. Helmuth had 164 kills, fifth in the North with 23 blocks.
The Ravens finished 5-3 in conference and 20-13 overall, their first 20-win season since 2013.
