Ravens Rise to the Challenge at Knoll Ridge Invitational

Hillcrest Academy Cross Country Results at English Valleys Invitational

Sophomore Marie Yoder took the lead early at the English Valleys Cross Country Invitational and never looked back. Yoder crossed the finish line in 20:57. She finished over one minute ahead of second place Anna Luers of English Valleys. Yoder made it look easy. It wasn’t. At race time it was sunny and 86 degrees. The course at Knoll Ridge Golf Course is the hilliest the Ravens will see. The Ravens team placed second behind host English Valleys. Siena Stanerson placed ninth in 23:19. Rya Scott was sixteenth in 24:26. Delaney Shaw had a rough patch in the middle of the race but managed to finish in 28:30 for twenty-fifth place. Brynna O’Rourke was two places back and crossed the line in 29:33.

The Hillcrest Raven boys cross country team placed fourth of eight full teams in the boys’ race. Seniors Micah Gerber and Jesse Blossom led the Ravens with twelfth and fifteenth place finishes in 20:23 and 20:49 respectively. Isaac Beachy had a great race finishing in 21:36 for twenty-second place. Braden Hartsock was next for the Ravens in thirty-fourth place with a time of 23:48. Senior Jeremiah Danker had his best race of the season. Danker placed thirty-ninth in 24:01.Mateo Rodriguez-Yoder also had a great race finishing in forty-seventh place with a time of 24:37. Kyle Neuschwander was the fifty-first finisher and crossed the line 26:17 after the starting gun was fired. Senior Gage Heyne won the boys’ race in 17:29. Durant won the team total with 59 points over second place, English Valleys.

Raven Calvin Meller won the middle school combined race while the Ravens boys’
team placed second of five full boys teams.

The Ravens cross country teams compete next in Burlington at the Tony Proctor
Invitational Thursday, September 26th.
