April Chapel Recap

April Chapel Recap

We had another good month of chapel at Hillcrest! We’re hurtling toward the end of the semester. Chapel Coordinator (and Bible teacher), Corben Weaver Boshart has been reminded of just how many different activities there are in schools as spring sets in. In the midst of everything going on, chapel continues to be a set apart space to take a step back and reorient our lives to God.

Sierra Cheney continues to do an outstanding job of leading what has become our spring chapel theme on the Gospel. With the help of Andrea Farrier, she has presented a basic teaching on what the gospel is, focusing on the story of the Bible, the problem of sin, the good news of Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection, and how we are invited to respond in faith. We’re planning to hear faculty and students share reflections on how the gospel has impacted their lives in the coming weeks.

At the beginning of April, Alex Zimmerman and Don Patterson were in chapel to do a live recording on their podcast, Thursday Mornings with Alex and Don. It has become something of a tradition for us to host them for their show, as they gather biblical and faith-based questions from the student body to respond to. If you would like to see the episode, it can be found here.

We’ve also been blessed to hear from Jay Miiller (Pleasantview), David Heusinkveld (Wellman Mennonite Church), Nour Ayoub (Hillcrest, junior), Mark Farrier, and Mike Shapovolov (Hillcrest, custodian).

We’re so thankful for all your prayers and ask that you would continue to keep us in your thoughts as we strive to finish the semester strong, both academically and spiritually. As always, you’re welcome to join us for chapel every day from 9:59-10:19. Here is a link to the most up to date chapel schedule to see what’s coming. We would love to see you!
