Ravens Dominate Wapello: Hillcrest Secures Victory with Stellar Performance

The Ravens took care of business in Wapello as Seth Ours led the way with one goal and three assists. Ours played a masterful game at center mid as he helped control the flow of the game and set up his teammates for numerous scoring opportunities. Adding to the scoring were Micah Gerber with 2 goals, Isaac Birky with two goals, Mason Bender who notched the opening goal on an assist from Ours, and Mason Helmuth and Isaac Beachy who each converted penalty kicks. In addition to Ours three assists, Mason Bender, Angel Sambrano and Lincoln Miller added assists. 

The defensive unit of Bryce Bailey, Mason Helmuth, Lincoln Miller and Kyle Neuschwander, along with Mason Bender and Jesse Blossom played well as they limited Wapello’s chances throughout the match. Andrew Kaufman tallied two saves to preserve the shutout with one key save in the waning seconds of the match. 

The match saw younger players Danny Meyer, Angel Sambrano, Kale Bailey and Braden Hartsock get extensive minutes during the eighty minutes of action. Sambrono contributed to the scoring with an assist and nearly added a goal while Meyer got off  some good shots which nearly scored. 

With the win Hillcrest moves to 7-0 overall and 5-0 in conference play. The Ravens return to action Friday when they host conference rival Columbus.
