Sara Brenneman Comes Home

Principal Dwight Gingerich is thrilled to announce that Sara Brenneman will join the Hillcrest Academy team in the fall of 2023 to fill the Learning Support Coordinator position, half-time. Sara comes to Hillcrest Academy after serving as Principal of The Learning Connection, a school for students with special learning needs, in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Sara is a 1980 graduate of IMS/Hillcrest, and received her degree in Physical Education from Goshen College in 1984. Sara then studied Special Education in graduate school, receiving an M.A. from the University of Iowa in 1993. Following a teaching stint in the Iowa City CSD early in her career, Sara has served in first Kenya, and then Malaysia since 2002.

Sara has a daughter, Natalie Meganathan, who will be a junior at Hillcrest in the fall. Sara’s late husband, Francis Meganathan passed away in October of 2019. In her free time, Sara enjoys traveling, reading and enjoying nature.
