RAVENS GOLF TEAM GET ROAD WIN OVER TIGERS

Sophomore Liam Schrock carded a 44 at the golf meet Friday vs New London.
The Hillcrest Ravens golf team edged out host New London 185-190 this past Friday. It was the first trip for these Raven golfers to Deerwood Golf Course. The Ravens were led by Luke and Liam Schrock who both carded 44s. Rowan Miller scored a 47 and Josiah Beachy scored a 50 to round out the win. Jace Rempel had a 51, while first timer Seth Ours shot a 56 in his Hillcrest golfing debut on varsity.

Liam and Rowan each had birdies, while they and their teammates sprinkled in a few pars to get just enough to secure the win. Ethan Yoder was the lone JV player who has continually improved his game over the last two weeks and made several quality shots.

The Hillcrest Academy boys golf team outshot New London on their home course Friday for a Southeast Iowa Superconference dual win. The Ravens took the match over the Tigers 185-190. Medal honors were a family affair for Hillcrest with Luke and Liam Schrock firing matching 44s. Both Schrocks joined KCII Sports after the meet to talk about the round and the team win. Luke Schrock said, “I had a couple of pretty good shots. Chips that gave me a tap in for par. You can make up a bad shot there. (The win) feels really good, maybe we didn’t shoot quite as good as we came in hoping but, when you walk out with a win it makes up for it!”
