Hillcrest Golf Take Win at Blue Top Ridge

Hillcrest golf takes down last year’s state qualifiers Wapello and host Highland at Blue Top Ridge on Monday night. Team scores were Hillcrest 179, Wapello 184 and Highland 242.

Hillcrest was led by medalist Luke Schrock who fired a 41 with several pars, following a triple bogey to lead the Ravens. Liam Schrock finished with a 44. Returning state qualifier for Hillcrest, Jace Rempel and newcomer freshman, Rowan Miller both added 47’s to round out the Raven’s top four scorers. Josiah Beachy finished with a 58 and freshman Ethan Yoder had a 74.

It was 61 degrees at tee off, but the winds turned bitter gusting to 20 mph by the time the last hole was played at less than 50 degrees. Last year the Ravens struggled out of the gate in cold weather. Not this year!
