Miller Closes In On 300 Milestone

As the 2023 boys soccer season begins, longtime Hillcrest Academy head boys soccer coach Marcus Miller ’76 is nearing a big number in the win column. Miller enters his 31st season at the helm at Hillcrest Academy, within striking distance of 300 career victories. He owns a 289-182-10 career coaching record, winning 60% of the matches in which he’s been on the sideline. His teams have finished with a winning record 19 times, at least 10 wins 15 times and 15 wins five times. The top number being 19 victories in 1997.

Under Miller’s direction, the program has reached the state tournament six times, 1996, 1997, 1998, 2000, 2018 and 2019, winning it all in 1997. Speaking of the 1997 State Championship, this season marks the 25 year anniversary. The team has been invited back to the pitch on Friday, April 21 as the Ravens soccer team takes on Danville at 5:00 PM. The team members will be recognized after the game.

The Ravens open the new season on April 6 when they host Cedar Valley Christian.
