Parable of the cloth and wine: Chapel Jan. 2-6

Our second semester chapels began with meeting in our small groups on Tuesday, January 3.

On Wednesday, we had a hymn sing in the Celebration Hall foyer. This was an Advent/Christmas carol sing that had to be cancelled in December because of weather.

For Thursday’s chapel, we began exploring the parable of the cloth and wine that is recorded in three of the gospels: Matthew 9:16-17, Mark 2:21-22, and Luke 5:36-38.

We wrapped up the week by discussing how Jesus affirmed and/or challenged the assumptions of the Pharisees and then how Jesus affirms and/or challenges our own assumptions.
