Sophomores Micah Gerber, Jesse Blossom and Kyle Neuschwander all recorded personal best times at the Bud Williams Invitational Thursday in Iowa City. Racing on a Division I venue under clear skies and temperatures in the mid-60s against a strong field of competitors all helped the Raven runners perform their best. Micah Gerber took his personal best from 19:26 to 18:51 placing seventieth overall. Jesse Blossom finished in 19:59. His previous best time was 21:00 and set one week earlier. Kyle Neuschwander was back after missing the Burlington meet and a week of practices due to illness. Neuschwander took his best time from 28:47 down to 26:01. Jeremiah Danker finished one place ahead of Neuschwander in 25:59. Senior Ford Washburn of City High put on a show of his own winning the meet for the third year in a row in a jaw dropping time of 14:50. Iowa City High won the team title. Hillcrest did not have the required five finishers to earn a place in the team standings.
