Blossom and Gerber clock personal best
Sophomores Micah Gerber and Jesse Blossom both had personal best times at the Fairfield cross country meet at Waterworks Park Thursday. Gerber placed ninth in the small school division with a time of 19:26. Blossom placed twenty-third in 21:29. Fellow classmates Kyle Neuschwander and Jeremiah Danker both made their debut at the meet. Neuschwander placed sixty-third in 28:47 and Danker was seventieth in 30:25. The race field was much larger than the results indicate. Both A and AA divisions competed in the same race. There were 199 finishers in the combined boys race. Hillcrest did not have the required five finishers to compete in the team standings. Micah Rees of Washington was the individual winner of the combined race, finishing in 16:51, while Rylan Martin of Danville was the first A division finisher finishing in 17:38. Danville-New London won the boys A team title.
Hillcrest did not compete in the girl’s race.
The Ravens compete next at Knoll Ridge Country Club in North English Tuesday, September 13.
