May 16 to 26 Chapels Close Out the Year

Senior Julia Boller reflects on her experience at Hillcrest Academy

We ended this year of chapels with a variety of events.

On Monday, we heard from senior Julia Boller with reflections on her time at Hillcrest and words of advice. We then heard reflections from departing FCS teacher Wendy Paiva.

Tuesday’s chapel time was spent with our small groups. This was the last small group with seniors.

On Wednesday, we heard reflections from departing music teacher Shawn Sandersfeld.

Thursday’s chapel time featured senior Kyla Salm giving her reflections of her time at Hillcrest. We then filled out an end of year survey about our chapel life this year.

Friday was the last day for seniors so we viewed a slide show featuring pictures of seniors through their time at Hillcrest. We then had a prayer of blessing for the seniors.

On Monday, May 23, we had a chapel review of the year using a Kahoot with questions about chapels through the school year.

Tuesday was our last day of small groups.

On Wednesday, we were privileged to hear from 2019 alumnus Jacob Boller. Jacob encouraged us to choose a spiritual discipline to help us in relationship with God.

We wrapped up our chapel year on Thursday by hearing a song from sophomore Andrew Starr, spent some time with a variety of scriptures that were shown on the screen to guide a quiet meditation time, and then had a prayer of blessing for our summer.
