Jace Rempel proved that he could compete with the best in the State the last two days. Out of 8 teams and 57 competitors at the start, Jace finished 16th for the Hillcrest Ravens.

On Monday, once the nerves settled, Jace finished with a respectable 91. Many others were in triple digits. After a slow start with a 48 on the back nine, he came back with a nice 43. At the end of the day, he was sitting in 23rd place.

On Tuesday, the weather was quite chilly. Jace opened with a 45.  There was a constant drizzle the remaining nine holes, but Jace finished with 4 pars out of the remaining 5 holes to move into 16th place at the end of the day.

He gave himself so many opportunities with great shots that led to a lot of birdie opportunities and two putts. Many of his drives were over 275 yards and his last drive was over 300 yards on hole 18 which led to an easy par.

Coach Phil Schintler commented, “Jace has clearly matured as a golfer over the past two weeks or so, proving he can play with the best in Iowa. Next season, he and the rest of the team will be fun to watch.”
