Ravens Volleyball Heads to Wapello for SEISC Conference Tourney

The Raven Volleyball squad headed to Wapello for the SEISC conference Tourney this week for the North/ South showdown.

First up was the North’s division leader, Wapello.  The Lady Ravens passing was on for a great fight, winning the volleys the majority of the match. Some hitting errors and 7 untimely service errors decided their fate in the close match.  The effort put forth was the first sign of the Ravens capability to take down a giant.

Lone Tree prevailed against the Ravens in an earlier season home thriller.  This evening’s match was nothing of the sort.  The Ravens attacked early and often, outscoring the Lions 50-22 in the  two sets of neutral site action.

Danville & Holy Trinity kept the Ravens off balance the majority of the match with a lot of out of system scrappiness.  As good as the Ravens  opening match passing was, it just wasn’t on with these matches.  Much of the game was out of system, as they were fighting
off attacks instead of setting the tempo themselves, like in the other matches.

Esther Hughes led the way with 16 kills on the evening, Norah Yoder 37 assists, Kylee Statler 3 solo Blocks, & Malia Yoder 30 digs.

Join the Ravens for their next home match, Senior Night, Monday, September 27 starting at 5:30 pm. Both XC and VB seniors will be acknowledged following the game.
