Ravens Golf Advances to Districts

The Ravens continue to roll. Thanks to English Valleys by placing 1st, as the host allowed a third team to go to Districts. The season high 367 posted by Hillcrest edged an excellent HLV team by 5 strokes to take that third spot, just behind North Cedar’s 366.

    

The Ravens were led by London Schrock 42,44 (86), Jace Rempel 43,44 (87), Luke Schrock 49,43 (92), Josiah Beachy 55,47 (102) and Alex Niemeyer 54,61 (115). Their 18 hole team total of 367 bested their 18 hole score last week at Central Lee by 24 strokes. Every Raven golfer either bested their 9 hole or 18 hole total .

   

Coach Phil Schintler commented, “Josiah, who has been struggling as of late, came in clutch today. He shot his best back to back nine holes of the year and broke the 50 mark for the first time this year. It could not have happened at a better time.”

    

According to yearbook records, this is the first winning season since 2005 and also the first time since that year that the Ravens have qualified for Districts as a team. Just when you think that the Raven highlight reel is finished….
