Chapel Feb. 1 – 4: Take Courage

Chapel Feb. 1 – 4: Take Courage

Shantell Krabill spoke on having courage to follow God in all that God calls us to do and be

Our scripture this week was Mark 6:45-56 in which we read about Jesus walking on the water. The theme from this story was “Take Courage”.

Monday’s chapel featured speaker Shantell (Detweiler ’00) Krabill, mother of senior Will Kolk and junior Aiden Krabill. Shantell spoke on having courage to follow God in all that God calls us to do and be.

Tuesday’s chapel time was spent in small groups. Students were encouraged to talk about overcoming fear.

On Wednesday, senior Yani Gutierrez shared about a time of taking courage. Then Spanish teacher Sierra Cheney began telling a story about a policeman who was involved in a fatal shooting and the courage it took to come to a point of receiving forgiveness from the victim’s mother.

Thursday’s chapel was done virtually since we had virtual classes. Sierra concluded telling the story of forgiveness and redemption of the policeman.
