Hillcrest Academy hosts Virtual Alumni Night

Hillcrest Academy hosts Virtual Alumni Night

“Just because we are in the middle of a global pandemic, doesn’t mean we can’t celebrate our alumni!” Those were the words of Director of Advancement, Jeremy Ours in reference to the upcoming Virtual Alumni Night on Friday, December 18. He went on to say, “Obviously the event won’t be the same as previous years, but really, nothing is under our current circumstances. Anytime we can do something that feels ‘normal’, we are grateful.”

The event has traditionally been a night to invite alumni back to Hillcrest Union to watch the current team and register for raffle prizes. Needing to pivot from large in-person events gave Jeremy the opportunity to think outside the box about ways to host the last basketball game before Christmas break. Alumni, no matter where they lived, registered and watched the game on Friday, December 18 at hillcrestravens.org/virtualalumninight.

With the help of AD, Chris Nachtigall, the BBB game vs Pekin featured short promo videos of our school’s 13 trips to the basketball State tournament along with raffle prizes given away to 25 lucky alumni. Over 650 households tuned in on our livestream broadcast, not including those listening on KCII radio and kciiradio.com.
