Homecoming Weekend & 75 Year Anniversary Celebration Events Postponed

This year’s Homecoming & Alumni Parents Weekend and 75 Year Anniversary Celebration, originally scheduled for October 16-18, have been significantly cut back or cancelled due to ongoing risks and limitations caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

“The safety of our students, their families, and our alumni is most important to us. Limiting in-person gatherings is the best way to ensure that.” said Jeremy Ours, Director of Advancement. “Our community is important to us; it’s our DNA and what makes us strong. Of course we are disappointed to see another aspect of our community life affected, but we feel it’s the right thing to do at this point and we hope to reschedule (especially the 75 year anniversary events) at a later date.”

However there are a few events that will still take place albeit looking a little different. The Hillcrest Academy Alumni Association will still host a ‘Virtual’ Joetown Classic  5K Run/Walk and the junior class will host a takeout version of the annual Pork Supper. Stay tuned for details for both events to be communicated soon and check out Homecoming 2020 for even more info.
