Moses is focus of chapel

Josh Lundberg

With teacher inservice and cancellations due to weather, we had only two chapels this week.

On Monday, January 13, we began looking at the life of Moses. We will be using the life and example of Moses and his transformation over the next 3 weeks. From the encounter of Moses with God in the burning bush from Exodus 3, we see that Moses is very reluctant to respond to God’s call. His physical posture early in the conversation is one of hiding his face in fear. Moses continually resists God’s call and God continually persists in including Moses in the great plan of rescuing the people of Israel from slavery in Egypt. We read through this story and watched the Veggie Tale depiction of this encounter.

Thursday the 16th was our next chapel as Josh Lundberg, pastor at Kalona Mennonite and Hillcrest board member, shared with us. In reference to the story of Moses, Josh talked of how the human mind has a great capacity to come up with excuses to resist God’s call on our lives. We discover the great blessings that God has for us when we say yes to God’s call.
