Girls fall to Wapello
The girls lost on the road to Wapello, 20-66.
Yani Guttierez led Hillcrest with eight points and five rebounds. Esther Hughes added six points, two assists and three steals. Sarena Gerber, Sarah Miller and Meredith Blossom rounded out the scoring with a bucket each.
“We have to find a way to come together as a group and put forth our best effort for longer spurts,” Hillcrest head coach Kari Heusinkveld said. “We’re doing some nice things at times and I think we’re working hard individually, but that collective effort isn’t where it needs to be. We have a couple of days to prepare for a better outing this Friday on alumni night and I expect that this group will be up for the challenge.”
The Ravens (1-6, 0-5) host Winfield Mount-Union (3-4, 2-3) on Friday, December 20th for alumni night. Tipoff is set for 6 PM.
