IMS Principal Named

IMS Board Chair Fred Gingerich announces the latest update on the principal search. On behalf of the Iowa Mennonite School (IMS) Board, I am pleased to announce the appointment of Dwight Gingerich to the position of principal.  Dwight currently serves as interim principal and is no stranger to IMS. Having served in a range of positions for over thirty years in counseling, administration, teaching, admissions, and coaching, Dwight brings proven administrative skills and leadership capabilities.

Dwight’s academic preparation, familiarity with the school and strong relationship with his peers uniquely position him to come into this role ready to lead IMS.  He brings long-standing relationships of trust for IMS throughout the local community including churches, and his personal integrity and trustworthiness poise him to lead IMS in a way that builds bridges and enhances the IMS mission of academic excellence in a Christ-centered education.

Finally, Dwight understands that the integration of faith and learning encourages critical thinking, creativity, and innovation.  He recognizes the inherent dignity and uniqueness of each individual and believes that students need to be empowered to learn while being encouraged to live out their faith in tangible ways.  Dwight’s appointment strongly supports Iowa Mennonite School’s commitment to Igniting Mind and Spirit for Christian discipleship in the church and around the world.

Dwight and his wife Mo have 3 children, Michaela, Eli, and Caleb.  Dwight currently serves on the board of Hesston College, Kansas.

I hope you will join me in congratulating Dwight and supporting him in his new role.
