CAMP DESCRIPTION: Our goal is to make every camper a better person and basketball player.  We want to have the girls who come through our camps learn how to play the game with sound fundamentals and great effort. We want every player to leave challenged in all areas of their game. We believe that players can learn valuable life lessons from the game of basketball and we try to help them see those lessons and apply them to their lives.

“At Hillcrest our goal is to have players that become the best person first and foremost and then also the best basketball player they can be.  We believe the first allows the second to happen. As a basketball player we don’t  just want our players to play the game but to understand the game. We strive to have players not just learn skills but learn why and how they should use those skills.”

ACHIEVEMENT “Unless you try to do something beyond what you have already mastered, you will never grow.”

CAMP FUNDAMENTALS: Each player who attends camp will receive instruction in all areas of basketball. The emphasis will be on strong fundamentals with particular emphasis on proper shooting and ball handling mechanics, proper individual defensive skills, and how to play team basketball. Every player will be evaluated and given a player profile card with areas of strength and areas of improvement. They will leave with a list of new drills that they can use to practice on their own to help improve their skills. Players will be placed on a team for three days and will play six games over the course of the three days.
