COVID-19 Guidelines

Hillcrest Academy strongly encourages eligible individuals to get the COVID-19 vaccine. For individuals 12 years of age and older who have not yet received the COVID-19 vaccine, this vaccine locator may be used to find a provider near you.

Masks are not required, but anyone is welcome to wear one and we need everyone to be respectful of one another. Bullying/mask discrimination one way or the other will not be tolerated.

Regardless of your vaccination status, if there is one symptom from the high-risk category, or two from the low-risk category, please stay home and contact your provider.

High Risk Symptoms: New cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, new loss of taste or smell

Low Risk Symptoms: Fever of 100.4 F, headache, muscle and body aches, fatigue, sore throat, runny nose, congestion, nausea, vomiting or diarrhea

All sick students, teachers, or other staff members should stay home in accordance with existing school procedures, generally until 24 hours after their symptoms resolve.

In the event of testing positive, how long should students, teachers, or other staff members stay home?

  • 10 days since symptoms first appeared
  • 24 hours with no fever without the use of fever-reducing medications
  • Until other symptoms of COVID-19 are improving. Loss of taste and smell may persist for weeks or months after recovery and need not delay the end of isolation

The ongoing situation will be reviewed and changes implemented if needed.
